Originally from Zaporozhye, Ukraine, Judge Katerina V. Moore first came to Perry County in 1996, and has been honored to call Perry County, TN, her home on a permanent basis for over 25 years. She earned her undergraduate from Lambuth University, Summa Cum Laude, in 2003, and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence, Cum Laude in 2006. Judge Moore began practicing law right after graduation in 2006, and since 2010, she has owned her own practice, The Moore Firm, in Linden, TN.
In August of 2014, Judge Moore was elected as Perry County General Sessions/Juvenile Court Judge. While on the bench, she has continuously strived to find various new programs and means of benefiting and serving our community., With the help of many volunteers, Judge Moore has established Perry County Disciplinary Board and Perry County Foster Care Review Board to assist the youth of our community and was the driving force in bringing Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Faith-Based Initiative, to Perry County, which resulted in the birth of Perry County Prevention Coalition, an organization formed to assist those in our community struggling with substance abuse, behavioral health and domestic violence issues.
Judge Moore is one of the founding members of two nonprofit organizations in our community: Lobelville Friends of the Library and Perry County Youth Centers. Additionally, she is a member of the Executive Board for Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Educational Committee for Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conference, Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization, Perry County Council on Aging, Perry County Community Collaborative, and Perry County Health Council. Judge Moore is always ready to help and volunteers her time with various other organizations, including assisting with Lobelville Volunteer Fire Department fish fries and Petals and Pearls events in the community.
She is married to Robby J. Moore, Mayor of Lobelville, and they reside in Lobelville with their two children, where they are members of the Lobelville Church of Christ. And she was most recently named the Woman of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce for 2022.
